Primary Finding

The ecosystem is active, but translation remains fragmented.

Research, governance, clinical practice, public education, workplace adaptation, and commercial products are moving at different speeds. The scan found substantial expertise inside each cluster, but few durable pathways translating evidence into language and tools for clinicians, families, educators, institutions, and the public.

Global Gap Analysis

Four gaps that survived active disconfirmation.

Gap 1

Human psychological adaptation

No mature global conversation yet integrates the psychological, relational, cognitive, and identity dimensions of adapting to increasingly capable AI systems.

Gap 2

Global South representation

Human-AI relational research and governance remain disproportionately shaped by wealthy countries, while infrastructure, language, labor, culture, and risk differ across regions.

Gap 3

Cross-cultural comparison

The field lacks shared methods for comparing attachment, trust, authority, companionship, family roles, and relational expectations across cultures.

Gap 4

Clinical training beyond English-speaking contexts

Clinician education on AI-mediated relationships is limited even in well-resourced settings and is especially sparse outside English-speaking countries.

Strategic Position

Hii is not entering an empty field. It is building connective tissue.

The missing layer is integrative, not proprietary.

The scan does not claim that no one studies human experience, mental health, governance, or collaboration. It identifies a translation and coordination problem: those domains rarely operate as one human system. Hii's role is to connect evidence, lived experience, clinical language, relational literacy, governance, and public orientation without claiming ownership over the field.
