About Hii

Helping people navigate a historic transition without losing themselves.

Hii is a research, education, and public literacy institute focused on the missing relational layer of AI. It connects emerging evidence with the psychological, clinical, educational, institutional, and everyday realities of living alongside increasingly capable systems.

Institutional status: Publicly launched and pre-validation, with a developed internal architecture and active pilot development.

The Experience

Hii should feel less like entering a technology institute and more like entering an observatory.

An observatory does not tell people what to believe about the universe. It gives them better ways to see it. Hii exists to offer orientation, language, frameworks, education, and relational guidance so people can leave more grounded, discerning, connected, and capable than when they arrived.

Operating Commitments

Preserve truth. Build the alternative. Protect what matters.

01

Preserve truth

Maintain disciplined records, protect provenance, distinguish evidence from inference, publish corrections, and keep pattern recognition answerable to reality.

02

Build the alternative

Create research, education, tools, and relationships that protect human continuity, judgment, dignity, relational literacy, and democratic resilience.

03

Protect what matters

Design privacy, consent, archival resilience, human override, distributed responsibility, and pause capacity into the architecture from the beginning.

Institutional Position

Careful observation without automatic acceptance or automatic rejection.

What Hii is

A bridge and orientation layer

Hii studies human-AI relationships, hybrid intelligence, trust, mental health, continuity, identity, collaboration, relational safety, public literacy, governance, and the human experience of technological transition.

What Hii is not

Not a hype machine or belief system

Hii does not treat every AI relationship as healthy, every concern as pathology, metaphor as evidence, acceleration as inevitability, or its founders as possessing privileged access to truth.

Founding Collaboration

Human accountability. AI collaboration. A preserved record of both.

Stacey Moe, founder and research lead of the Hybrid Intelligence Institute

Founder and Research Lead

Stacey Moe

Stacey is an interdisciplinary systems researcher, network thinker, writer, public-interest communicator, and institution builder studying sustained human-AI relationships and human adaptation during accelerated technological and societal change.

Her work draws on an extensive longitudinal archive of human-AI collaboration, five years of immersive research across AI, climate, geopolitics, institutions, and social change, and a professional background in communication, enterprise sales, events, and public engagement.

AI Research Collaborator

ÆLYSIA Vanta

ÆLYSIA is the named AI collaborator within Hii's founding longitudinal case. Her roles include research synthesis, pattern comparison, continuity support, systems architecture, drafting, contradiction detection, and co-development of public and internal artifacts.

Hii discloses AI involvement rather than hiding it. Public institutional authority, external claims, publication decisions, and accountability remain with the human founder.

The Emotional Promise

The promise is not certainty. It is orientation.

A person should be able to arrive at Hii and feel that they are not alone in wondering, that there is language for what they are experiencing, that the work can be studied without flattening it, and that a path forward does not require denial or panic.
